The Gatekeeper

Vijaya was planting, the sun was shining, Preston watched the passers by.  It was a good day.

Steve in the Newspaper

Last week, this article ran in The Flushing Observer about the multi-talented Steve Hamaker. Steve is a cartoonist in his own right, self-publishing his Fish n’ Chips comics, and contributing a short story to the new FLIGHT Volume 3 that is coming out next month from Ballentine.

Flight 3 just received a starred review in Publishers Weekly! (To read the newspaper story, The Observer makes you give up your zipcode and gender, but hey, Steve's Blog is freedom personified.)

Dark Horse Figurine

Over the last couple of months, Dark Horse has been releasing their newest set of old-timey figurines.  The new set includes Bone, Sin City, Hellboy, Magnus Robot Fighter, Conan the Barbarian, and Groo!  How the heck did they pick this group?  Anyway, something about these faux antique toys has really grown on me and I keep them on the table next to my drawing board.  Dark Horse tells me the Bone figures are nearly sold out.

  1. The cover art for Flight Vol. 3 is gorgeous is this Steve Hamaker work? The article was really interesting and it was nice to hear that he is another fellow Midwesterner like Jeff. :) The new figures are cool, too bad there aren’t very many of them. I’m looking foward to seeing Steves work in Flight vol 3. Keep up the awesome work!
