A must read for any Thompson fans, or anyone who likes to read ridiculously candid and personal anecdotes... I mean, it's a travel sketch book but so much more, revealing intimate personal details that few artists would consider sharing with their audience. It's not the "next novel", but it is a sequel to "Blankets" and continues the high marks for excellence that "Blankets" established. It reminds me a lot of my family's farm and many the state parks here in Iowa. Our farm is in a valley and the hills surrounding the house have a lot of bluffs and large rock formations. There's also a state park nearby called Maquoketa Caves that has large caves like Old Man's Cave; it’s very neat one of the caves is well under ground. If you’re ever by this way stop by and see some of Iowa’s state parks I think you’d really enjoy them.:) My favorite photo of yours is the one of the trees growing over the rock, its unreal looking!
