Hi! I have spent 20 years in denmark and was a regular member of frederiksberg library and I have read and enjoyed all the tintin cartoon/ comic books but sadly saying that in my land no one knows about this character. Ah!!! I really miss my past spent with tintin readings.

When I and my sister were there I was only 4yrs old and my sister is 11yrs old we have a collection of Tintin now iam is 11yrs old and my sister is 17 yrs old still both of us are fan of Tintin and we are also fan of Herge and we have read all the boobks of Tintin 700 times and my sister 10000 times and both of us know each questions of Tintin.

“White dreams”?!?!?! Come on man, that just sounds plain rude!

I think we had maybe four books when we were kids, handed down from my cousins. Red Rackhams Treasure (if I recall the name correctly) the rocket to the moon, Tibet, and the one with the red lobster claw emblem (although my memory might well just have morphed seamlessly into Mignola’s Lobster Johnson mythos there!)

I didn’t have a chance to see the documentary… but they reply it on saturday I will whatch it with a lot of pleasure. Tintin is a great material, the belgium school are great. What is the more intresting with Herge is that he take a picture our our society at at very very intersting time : cold war, colonisation….. I really love Tintin, I got all of them in VO….. ahaha easy for me.. I French and Herge was speaking the same language (well almost the same). If you go to europe you can even visite “le ChÃ¢teau de Moulinsart”.

I got a chance to see the show last night and it was definitely worth watching. I was familiar with most of the details, but was completely caught off guard by the depth of Herge’s sorrow – - especially when hearing it in his own voice. I always liked TinTin in Tibet the best of all the stories, but now it is clear that it was his masterpiece and a personal triumph. (If you haven’t seen the show yet, most PBS stations will re-run it in the next few days; POV: TinTin and I. Wait until you hear about the white dreams!)

No TinTin the Nazi. In fact, Herge’s time working for a Nazi controlled newspaper is put into context, and only adds to the tale of troubles Herge got himself into.

Ahh, TinTin, which, while being one of the greatest comicbook characters ever is also one of THE most terrifyingly over-priced merchandise properties. In many years of looking I’ve yet to find a piece of “tat” that hasn’t made my jaw go slack when contemplating said purchase.

Guess there’s gonna be all the usual “TINTIN THE NAZI” baying on the show…

Jeff, long time fan, first time poster! My background is as a published kids author/illustrator and designer for animation (do please all check out my blog for comic/toon goodness!). I have to say you’ve been a big big influence and I shall definitely stay in touch on here. Likewise I’d welcome any irreverant comments on BADABLINGTHING from you guys if you’re up for it!
