Interesting! Syndication seems well intentioned. It's cool on the one hand, helping to spread the word and building the community, but I can see how some people would consisder it stealing. Taking content without sharing "eyeballs", which is currency on the web, would be bogus, if that is what is happening. I'm not exactly sure. It may be one of those gliches we'll have to smooth out as we all progress in this medium. For now, I'll just take it as a compliment that someone wants to read the blog!

Your readers do not have to go to this website to see the content you are posting on your RSS feed -- they can just use a reader to read the content here along with any other weblogs they are following.

And on second thought, LiveJournal does a far better job explaining the syndicating of content than I do. (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqcat=syn)

Bloggers are somewhat split on whether they want their content syndicated -- some are just pleased that their content is being read, while others would prefer that all their readers visit their website only, so they can keep better track of who their audience is.

Which is the reason I was being somewhat cryptic. I wanted you to know that the RSS feed had been syndicated, but did not want to post details in case you would prefer that your traffic come predominantly through this website.

Lucy, I'm new to this world of blogging. What does that mean, syndicated elsewhere?

Aaaaagggh! Flashbacks!
(Sorry. B&N vet.)

FWIW, the RSS feed for here has been syndicated elsewhere. Do you need the info, or has it been passed on?
