Hi Jeff, on the last day of the year I finally managed to put the pics I took of the Bone exhibition at the Frankfurt Bookfair online. Not very spectacular, I know. But for anyone who's interested, please click on the link above (to zoom in, click on the pictures). BTW: There is no way one could purchase one of those prints, is there? Have a great new year and see you in 2007! irene

Hi Jeff et all.

The BONE-exhibition at the Frankfur Book Fair was great. Usually I prefer dark & grim fantasy, but for me Bone proofs brilliantly: don't trust your pejudices farer, than you can throw a piano.

For some reasons (which are too embarrassing geeky to tell) I've counted the panels of Bone. — BTW: I think, if you really want to analyse comics, you have to count. Or how do you think Scott McCloud got his schematics about differnent kinds of cultural styles regarding the transistion from panel to panel? Strangly, I find very little hard data about pages and panels. Oops, now I explicicated my geek-reasons. Sorry.
But here are the numbers!

••• 1st Part: VENERAL EQUINOX
• Book 1: »Out Of Boneville«; 142 pages, ca. 773 panels.
• Book 2: »The Great Cow Race«; 143 p., ca. 630 pan.
• Book 3: »Eyes Of The Storm«; 180 p., ca. 788 pan.
••• 2nd Part: SOLSTICE
• Book 4: »The Dragonslayer«; 182 p., ca. 899 pan.
• Book 5: »Rock Jaw«; 124 p, ca. 544 panels.
• Book 6: »Old Man's Cave«; 126 p, ca. 565 pan.
••• 3rd Part: HARVEST
• Book 7: »Ghost Circles«; 158 p, ca. 673 pan.
• Book 8: »Treasure Hunters«; 140 p, ca. 604 pan.
• Book 9: »Crown Of Horns«; 229 p., ca. 984 pan.

Total: 1434 pages and circa 6460 panels. ›Circa‹, because I only counted once (took about 3 hours), and I guess, the total number might be wrong by plus/minus 10 to 20 panels. I only counted the storytellung parts, and not the vignetts.
Cheers from Frankfurt/M, Germany,
Alex / molosovsky
