Spain, part three; Barcelona
Our last night in Madrid was a feast of Monkfish prepared in the Basque style. It looked like a Christmas dinner; and it was sweet, mild, and tender. You don't see fish served like this very often.
The dessert was a fried egg cake, with a Basque liquor poured over it (very potent, I was told), and topped off with ice cream made from Roquefort cheese. Sounds a bit strange, but it was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had.
The next day Laureano and I fly to Barcelona for another FNAC presentation and signing. We meet Albert Monteys and Alvaro Pons. Albert is another popular cartoonist from the humor magazine El Jueves , and author of his own book Tato, which is laugh out loud funny, even with my very limited Spanish. Alvaro Pons runs the most read comics blog website in Spain, La Carcel de Papel.

On the way to the presentation area, we see BONE once again shelved with the bestselling fiction books, as well as placed in the "hot" alcove with the newly released DVDs, games and books. I hope my pals at Blue Sky Studios that worked on Ice Age II are seeing this!
The presentation starts at 7pm and again is very crowded.

The signing is a blast, although we had to hurry because a big football game was on later that evening! The next day is with our distributors from SD Distribution. While at lunch, Laureano gets the good news that BONE has far exceeded sales expectations: Half of the print run for the year has sold in just two weeks!

That evening we also had a nice signing at Norma Comics, where the crowd was made up of every age, and gender.

On the way to the airport, I swing by the Gaudi Cathedral. This is my second visit, and it is much too short.

Antoni Gaudi's unfinished masterpiece, The Sagrada Familia is a flowing, melting, ascending creation that is taking a hundred years to realize.

Man…how did Guadi know what the inside of my head looks like? Tomorrow I fly to Bilbao to see the equally mind bending Guggenheim Museum…

I didn’t know you were friends with Blue Sky, Jeff. Maybe you could get a Bone CGI movie going with those guys!
