Hello, Columbus!

Filed under: Bone, World Tour — Jeff @ 12:06 pm

It’s good to be back home.

A cheeseburger and a Coke isn’t the first thing I ate when I arrived in the States, but darn near. And this is no flavorless fast food snack – - this an honest  cheeseburger from a real American bar & grill called The Thurman Cafe; a local place where you go after softball in the summer. A half pound of ground beef dripping with melted American cheese,  topped with bacon, lettuce, tomato and onions, served with chips and a pickle on the side. What, you think I just like to eat when I’m in Europe?

Actually, there's a lot going on, some big news about Shazam! and there's a big book fair this weekend in Montreal, but I'll put up a report later this week.

  4. I can’t say that would be one of the first things I would eat after a long trip abroud. I’ve never cared for hamburgers but it looks a lot more appetizing than what you find at those greasy fast food places. I think you’d need another set of hands to keep it from falling apart lol. Welcome home and have a great Turkey Day. Oh and that chair looks really comfy. haha

  14. I entered the Thurman Cafe for my first time last week, haha, how ironic… ;P However, the wait was too long and we ended up going to Max & Erma’s instead…probably a good thing, since (as a vegetarian) burger joints ain’t exactly my bag! XD

Welcome back and all that jazz! Ahh, Columbus… ^_^ Hope you hang around at least through December: I have a desire to find time during my break to come ’round to German Village and shamelessly bug you again…whether you mind or not, bwahaha! I mean, I’ll probably end up having dinner at Alessandro’s at least once next month. We shall see, we shall see…
    Cheeeeers!

  15. That sounds repulsive, the first thing you ate was that (or near to the first) was a big cheesy thing. I’m Canadian and was reading this with my friends and we were all like “I swear he just said American like…three times” But thats off the topic, I still think its gross but yeah I sort of understand.

Though I can agree on the fantastically amazing tasty part. I’ve been there and they have rather good food

  16. Cara, let me know when you are over at Allessrandro’s. We should try to get everybody together for a dinner again.

  17. Saying American cheese doesn’t count as saying “American.” Besides, as I’m sure you know, American cheese is actually identical to Canadian cheese! I have no idea why we have two names for the same thing.
