Hi, this is Mirka23, author of the blog Two-timing my Scrapbook. The reason I liked the photo so much is that I loved the mood that these two characters create together, and I was glad that I could capture it in a photo. There’s something about the Red Dragon – with his heavy-lidded, unhurried wisdom – that makes him a good spiritual companion for Kurt Cobain. At least Kurt as rendered in toy form. They look like they could conquer the world together, if they wanted to, but they’d rather just rock out.

Now wait just a minute, Blake. Did you draw out Smith’s use of imagery from “Sleeping Beauty”? Did you discuss the Hero Cycle? Did you describe the Animal Paramour mythic motif? Oh gosh….all the Bone love and I came here to post a comment on Shazam! LOL….Hey Jeff, just wanted to say I just finally read Shazam! # 2(thanks to the miracle of the Post Office and my local shop!) and it was fantastic! Mary is one of my favorite characters of all time and you’ve made her even better. Ok, I admit to liking the grown up “sexy” Mary but I can like both, right? Anyhow, I look forward to the next ish with as much anticipation as I do the next Buffy….and if you knew me, you’d know that’s the highest compliment I can give anything! Many blessings!
