RASL #1 in Previews: first look at variant cover

The new Diamond Comics Previews catalog came in the mail today. This is the ad we ran in the Dec. issue for comic books shipping in February. Inside the ad is a first glimpse of the variant cover for RASL #1, seen enlarged below.
I haven’t made very many variant covers in my career (unless repackaging BONE a hundred million times with new covers counts), but when I do, I try to have fun. And this was fun. Noirish angles, with shadows cutting jaggedly through the panel- – intersecting the face. The regular #1 will still be the cover we previewed in San Diego last summer, and the rest of the series will follow this paired down rock poster look.
Someone at Diamond came up with this tag line that I like:
Discover what price a man must pay to be the world's greatest art thief!
RASL appears on pg. 238 of the Previews catalog. The order code for the straight up version is: DEC073519 E RASL #1
And the variant/incentive code is: DEC073520 E RASL #1 ALT CVR INCV.

That cover is just kick – butt 100 times over. That time in the desert really gave you a marvelous idea for what to draw. Fantastic job, Jeff.

Jeff, I had bought the Bone phonebook a year or so ago and loved it. Rasl sounds like such a great concept. I signed up for it at my local comic shop. Best of luck on it’s success!

It looks great! Can’t wait to pick this one up too! I still have to get the hardcover collection of Shazam.
Man I’ll have to dig deep into my pockets for all of the new books I want to pick up lol. But this feels great I haven’t collected a comic book regurarly since Bone’s ending. I’ve been looking for something good that’s caught my attention and so I am looking very much forward to collecting “Rasl”. Kepp up the great work!

I placed my order for a copy of each cover, but my store won’t order the alternate cover for me because they said they have to order more the 4 copies of the book, so I’m on the hunt for the other cover of your book. Ever since I heard of Rasl, i’ve been patiently waiting for it to be released.
