Bone & MiB
Received this in an e-mail last week. It's a pin-up that was done by Miguelanxo Prado, whose cartoon album Trazo de Tiza was a huge crittically acclaimed hit in the mid-ninties and then again when it was published this year by Norma and NBM. He is also the founder of the Spanish Vinetas desde O Atantico festival in A Coruna.
Hi, Jeff!
First of all, my best wishes for this new year, for Vijaya and you!
I'm sending to you the image I had done for the first spanish edition of Bone, of which I had talk to you.
I hope to meet you again soon, perhaps in some other comic festival.
Take care,
Miguel
I hope so, too. Thanks for sending the picture!
You can see photos of Miguel and I in A Coruna, Spain here.

Wow. How cool is that? I haven’t seen anything from him since I stopped reading the once-great Heavy Metal in 2000.
He is so good. I’m going to grab my old HMs tonight and bask in his coolness.

Ha, sweet! I love the Men In Black films, they’re classics of the 90s. So they get pin-ups in the Spanish edition of Bone? Is that the colour editions? That’s pretty cool. Let me sneak in a semi-related question… Any hint if there are plans to have any extras in the colourized Crown of Horns to end the series? While “extras” such as those in the Shazam book wouldn’t fit as well perhaps, I think the Greed comic originally in the B&W Crown of Horns, and the other non-continuity stories – Powers That Be and the mini-comics story (am I forgetting any?) – would be a great bonus, though since Crown of Horns might be pushing the page limit (I’m guessing?), maybe you could put them into Treasure Hunters?
By the way, Jeff, there were a couple questions posted at the end of this blog too, dunno if you ever saw them:

No, I hadn’t seen those. The Rasl preview pages are part of the first issue and will be in #1.
And I forwarded Hugh’s question about movie rights to my agent.
Thanks, Brandon!

Hey Jeff!
Hey Jeff, next time you talk to Miguel tell him I said hi-I was the Producer on season 2 of the MIB animated show back in the day. He’s a very sweet guy, and his designs were always brilliant.
Looking forward to your show at the Wexner Center.

Hey TJ, I think (Jeff, correct me if I’m wrong) but right now the only place to find Bone action figures is on eBay or other similar online marketplaces. I don’t have any of them, but as far as I know, the last action figures released are at least a few years old now. You can find them sealed and new on eBay. You might want to also visit your local comic book / collector shops and see if they have any.

Lol I love that picture. That movie was so cool, both of them. And the Trazo de Tiza looks interesting too.

Hey Jeff, I was wondering if when you first started writing “Bone” if it was directed to kids?
Comment by Julian — January 27, 2008 @ 2:02 pm
no. I was just trying to make a funny book like Uncle Scrooge or Pogo.
