Filed under: Bone, Comics!, Events, News, RASL, Shazam! — Tom @ 6:37 pm

Hi everybody, Tom here with another update on the exhibition that is only days away. Things are really starting to come together as you can see from the following pics.

Steve, Vijaya and Jeff waiting for the gallery space to open.

Vijaya admiring a Geo. Herriman original.

Jeff can't take his eyes off the E.C. Segar strip.

V & J with Fone Bone.

Jeff just noticed that the Carl Barks Uncle Scrooge page is signed!

The original art for the final cover of BONE, issue #55.

A  double page spread from  SHAZAM! The Monster Society of Evil.

The six page preview story from RASL.

Just outside the gallery, a huge mural that Jeff created is being hung one panel at a time using hydraulic lifts.

Jeff checks out the seam between panels.

The first two panels are up! Kathleen and I (Tom) stand next to the wall for scale.

Steve and Jeff chatting with Ohio State University President Gordon Gee.

  2. Man looks awesome! I am so jealous that I won’t get to see your work up close. Are you ever going to come down to New Zealand for a visit I’m sure there are plenty of fans who would love to see you.

  6. Went to the exhibit today and the pictures just do not do it justice. The attention to detail and presentation was just top notch. It also made me want to go find some collections of “Pogo”.

There were some great items at the Wexner Center Store also to make one easily go broke. Luckily, I maintained self-control.

Also got to the talk at Mershon Auditorium with Jeff and Scott McCloud which was very entertaining and informative. Afterwards, the book signing was crazy. I was about mid-way through the line and even that took about an hour & a half! Jeff was so nice to everyone, even indulging people wih multiple items to sign and sticking a doodle in most of them! I have to believe he was there for quite a while, even after I headed back to Cincinnati.

Jeff, everything was great! You should be very proud. Hope to get you on the podcast soon.

  8. I’m going to try to go, I’m so excited! I’m working on a book right now of my own (not a graphic novel, but I’m experimenting in that field) so it will be amazing to finally see the work of my favorite cartoonist/author in depth and everything. I’m sooooo happy!
