I’m a bad interview…

Filed under: Bone, Events, World Tour — Jeff @ 2:44 pm

I just stumbled across this on YouTube last night. It’s an interview I did with  Alyssa Huang last Spring while at the ALA BookExpo. I mentioned it in my blog at the time, but I lost my notes that had the little girl’s name and that she was with Ideas in Writing Kid’s Club. I never saw the finished piece after that. Anyway, here it is, and I am a bad subject. I inadvertently throw my interviewer off just as the showroom starts to shut down. It’s pretty adorable…

  5. I found it quite charming.
Considering how tired you must have been after a long day in that trade show circus atmosphere you seem quite chipper.
And the ending couldn’t have been better had it been scripted.
    Happy New Year!

  7. Dear Mr. Jeff Smith,
Thank you so much for writing Bone. I love all of your character’s personalities and traits (my favorite character in Bone is Bartleby). “Treasure Hunters” was at the top of my Christmas list this year, and ever since I ordered “Out From Boneville ” in my school’s scholastic catologue, I have been hooked on your Bone series, so hooked that I even ordered a prequel too. I can’t wait to pick up “Crown of Horns” once its out and I just wanted to let you know that you helped inspire me to write for my school’s newspaper and write short stories in my free time. I hope you continue your work,

    Jack

  8. I just checked Borders to check the order on RASL, and it says it’s going to be released February 25th.

Is this for real, or is it coming out in January like expected?

  9. That was AWSOME! Jeff is so nice to her, and they talk like they are the same age.

I really would like to meet Jeff some day, hope he can come to Brazil anytime, he would be very welcome here. =)

  11. Are you aware that Diamond has been out of stock of several of the color Bone volumes for some time? Vol 7 has been out of stock for MONTHS, and now they’re out of Vol 1 as well.

We’d like to keep ordering these books and supporting the line….

  12. Do you wished you were asked more about the art?

    Comment by Shannon — January 13, 2009 @ 7:00 pm

  13. Don,
No I didn’t know Diamond was out. Thanks for the heads up. We try to keep on top of the inventory, but the color books are published by Scholastic and we don’t have quite as much control when it comes to them. Still, I’ll make a phone call today!

No, I don’t think we needed to talk about much else. I think Alyssa actually did a wonderful job!

  18. Is there any way that you could help us get in touch with Jeff Smith?

We live in a tiny town of Marquette, in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, on Lake Superior, where my 10-year-old son is a contributor to his school paper The Blazing Comet. He as all the kids in his school are absolutely obsessed with Jeff Smith’s Bone books.

Small and completely unknown as Marquette is to the rest of America, this little town’s lower middle school newspaper has made headlines, as an award winning school paper and some of the kids from The Blazing Comet went all the way to Washington DC to receive their award.

After being the comic strip writer, my son Noah has recently been charged with writing an article for the paper. He was shocked and baffled at his predicament because he just loves doing the comics, until the idea of an interview with Jeff Smith captured his imagination.

    Please help!

    Thank you,
    Nell Kupper
