hey Jeff,
I thought there was originally ten books in the bone sega. If there isnt and im wrong do you think you will be making anymore bone books?
Comment by Josh — March 14, 2009 @ 9:29 am
There are 9 books. But if your craving more BOne you should get the two mini series printed a few years back. Rose and Stupid Stuid Rat Tales. Both are very goo.
But I do agree I’ve longed to see mroe Bone stories especially after reading Rose. I very much would like to know more about the old kingdom.
Congrats on making it to the top 10! I saw this at Barnes and Noble over the weekend and was very impressed. Will have to rethink gettingthe rest of the colored volumes. Currently I only have vol one plus the original black and whites.

Congrats on making the list…
…but the thing that caught my eye was “New Bone Video Game!!!” Through the Telltale people again, or are we talking a whole new thing?
Comment by Derek — March 15, 2009 @ 1:34 am
You know, I don’t know what the video game thing is all about. There is no new Bone video game in the works. I think it may be refering to something Scholastic is planing for its website – - a little flash game, maybe, or it could just be an internet rumor that made it onto the list!

Please make another BONE book. The series is just to good to stop!

Over the Christmas holidays, my son (age 9) asked to go to the bookstore. We searched everywhere for something that would keep his attention instead of becoming another lump on the pile of wasted books.
He saw a three pack collection of Bone 1-3. He tore through them. Soon I bought 4 and 5. He could not put the books down. This past weekend we ended up grabbing book 9.
He said when he is finished reading them again, I can borrow the books.

Grats, Mr. Listm’n! I’m so happy that the color job was done so well. The fact a new generation of youngsters will be privy to the Bone saga warms my heart to unexplainable degrees.
I am a video game nerd. I love the idea of a Bone video game, but the Telltale one is almost unplayable, and their character voices make me cringe. A Bone RPG made proper (by SquareEnix, please) would be simply amazing.
Please – don’t make another Bone book. It is a perfectly told tale. Now more back story, a’la Rose, would melt my universe.
QUESTION TIME! (Don’t worry, I really don’t expect a reply – I can’t sleep and typing this up seems interesting enough.) Is there any more info available on the Bone film?? If so – have you given any thought to voices actors?? The right voices would really make or break the film for me, and as I hold Bone on the same pedestal that The Beatles reside, I’d hate to have them break it. Some suggestion from the peanut gallery:
Stupid, stupid rat creature (that doesn’t love quiche): Jason Zumwalt; voice acted Roman Bellic in Grand Theft Auto IV.
Smiley Bone: Michael Richards; played Kramer in Seinfeld.
The Great Red Dragon: Samuel Jackson; needs no introduction.
Ted: I’ve always imagined him having a fairly high pitched, super-thick New York accent.
And in a perfectly ideal situation, John Williams or Nobuo Uematsu would handle the soundtrack.
Sorry about the length of my post. But yeah – congrats on the list!

Oh my god, Sam Jackson would be PERFECT.

I do Pivot animations =P
can’t argue with that list, even though I don’t get all the Naruto books. I haven’t read them, but I’ve watched some of the anime, and they weren’t my favourite. Death Note is so much cooler! Anywhoo…
I love Bone!

My son has written a letter that he would like to send. Is there an address he can send it? Thanks!
Comment by Tracy Dyer — March 30, 2009 @ 9:23 pm
Is there an online version you can read of the new book?

I had to put this somewhere, cause I’ve been Bone obsessive since I finished the 9th volume. I can’t get past the ending; I’ve searched articles of interviews with Jeff hoping I might get something of him relating about the ending. (slight spoiler warning)
I’ve loved Bone since I first read it in the Disney Adventure’s magazine subscription I had (which, of course, meant I was introduced to it from the very first in color). I HATED when they stopped featuring it. Years went by and I’d see that there was comics out, but I was so out of touch that I didn’t grab them because trying to figure out the where in the story seemed daunting. Then last week I saw that they had these color volumes while perusing through a bookstore…I spent $90 that I did not have to spend to get them all, and could do naught but read them. The last part of the 9th chapter, my heart pounded as it came down to Bone making his final decision…
…it was a good ending. I absotively posilutely HATED his decision, but I concede that it was well done.
But, it led to my scouring the internet for articles of interviews with Jeff hoping someone might ask the question that was burning in my heart: will they see each other again?
I’m not asking for more Bone, necessarily, cause I understand an end is important in all things, and I love that Jeff had the idea of a beginning, middle, and end for a comic, because it is an awesome idea. But…I’m dying for some glimmer of hope that that’s not the complete ending. Not in the sense of him doing more Bone (that would be awesome), but…that Fone Bone and Thorn don’t ever see each other again. It just seems too sad to me…
…so looking at it as logically as I can when my heart strings have been tugged so, I look at one thought with eternal hope: Phoney is incorrigible. He just keeps coming up with scheme after scheme that ends up topping the last and getting him in hotter and hotter water. So within a year of their return to Boneville, he’s BOUND to do something stupid that gets them run outta town again, and maybe that much further into the desert; meaning they’ll be back in the valley before a year is up and hopefully Fone Bone and Thorn will see each other again. It is my hope, it is my dream.
Jeff Smith, I wanted to say that you made an awesome comic that I’ve loved since I was 10, and will continue to love till the day I die. Thank you for making such an awesome comic. You rock. (sorry for the length, but I’ve been about to explode for over a week now…)

However, right before taking it, there are still some rules that you need to understand. But sadly, they cannot get hold of Hoodia products, thanks to the Australian government.
