Cartoon Books and Abstract Studios are heading to San Diego Comic-Con!

Jeff, Vijaya, and the rest of us Cartoon Book staffers, are teaming up with Terry and Robyn Moore from Abstract Studios to make an appearance at the biggest comic book convention in the country, Comic-Con International in San Diego, California.  Terry and Jeff are old friends and have talked about doing this for awhile now. And since both their new projects are science fiction stories, this seemed like the year!

Steve H. and I have designed these mock-ups of what we thought the booths would look like.

(you can click on the last image for a bigger view) We will have a 10′ x 20′ booth space. As you can see, RASL and ECHO have never looked bigger or better! We will be located at booth 2109. Comic-Con is held at the San Diego Convention Center on July 23-26, 2009.

We’ll be posting more details about books and goodies that we’ll be bringing to the show in the weeks to come, so check back!

  1. Oh wow, that’s exciting! I really wish I could be there! SDCC always sounds amazing, all the creators who will be there, all the goodies that creators make for the cons. The booth mockups look awesome, and since I’m really enjoying Echo right now, I think Jeff teaming up with Terry for SDCC is pretty cool! Oh boy, I really like those booth designs! LOL!

  2. Nice booths! I agree with Brandon, I’ve always wanted to go to a convention.

Nice job coloring RASL at the top of the one booth by the way! The middle panel looks great too.
(That’s the Hardcover edition cover of The Drift for people who are interested.)

  3. Great. It will be much easier to find both at the convention. And it’s such a natural pairing. Two pilars of high standard comics making.

  4. How exciting! I’d love to go. I just find conventions intimidating, especially with all the people dressed up and totally hyped up. Naturally, I’d feel lost, but with you guys there? What a great motivation!

  7. Oh wow! What a fantastic team-up! Two of my favourite cartoonists in the same place, at the same time! :D

Sadly I can’t go to SDCC this year, due to financial reasons. I hope you guys have a great time :)
