Jeff Smith bookstore signing in Toronto!
This August, Jeff is jumping the lake!

On Saturday August 8th, Jeff will be doing a signing at the Indigo Book Store in Toronto.
Indigo is Canada’s largest bookstore with locations across the country.
Jeff’s appearance will be at the Indigo Books in the Yorkdale Shopping Centre. The address is 3401 Dufferin Street, Unit #29, Toronto and the phone number is 416-781-6660.
The signing begins at 2pm.
This event could fill up quickly and you should contact Indigo for more information as the event gets closer.

Can’t believe it. I missed my chance years ago in Ottawa by a week. Now I’m missing this chance by 2. One day I’ll make it down to a big con though.

Cool, glad you’re making it up to Canada for an event, even if it’s on the wrong side of the country for me! We’ll have to get you up here on the West Coast of Canada sometime.

Random thought of the day… reading The Drift hardcover, and the intro to the bonus section at the back of the volume (which has some fantastic behind-the-scenes material… If another writer had written RASL, the whole series could have been called “The Drift.” It could have been the same story of “fringe science” (which Jeff implies as the genre of RASL in that intro). But it wouldn’t have been RASL. RASL is, after all, the story of a man. Not the technology, though the technology, history and mythology certainly play a part. Just as in Bone: the trappings of the fantasy genre created the world, but it was, of course, always about the human side of the equation – love, friendship, jealousy, revenge, courage, etc. THIS is one of many reasons that Jeff’s stories are so amazing – they’re filled with humanity, and that’s what will (and does) make them not just wonderful stories but tales that are timeless, enduring and important.
Some non-spoiler “review blurb” comments on issue 5:
