AVATAR

Tom here.  We haven’t seen Avatar yet (we’re all going this weekend), but I found this still from the movie. Maybe James Cameron should direct the BONE movie!

  1. But then it would take, like, 11 years to make!

Don’t you want the movie to be made in a shorter amount time than it took the comic to finish?

    (read with sarcasm)

  2. Jeff,

Animalogic, the people behind Happy Feet, are doing the Bone movie:http://www.icv2.com/articles/news/16544.html

I guess this means the movie is going to be an Australian import with US involvement

  3. A deliberate reference, perhaps?

  4. Awesome. I am excited. Although I was not impressed by “Happy Feet”, I am sure that Jeff would not allow the movie to be bad. Any talks or offers for Rasl options yet?

  7. I’m a little sad to hear it’ll be made by a 3d animation company. I think it would really sparkle as a traditional 2d animation and then the art style could really shine through as well. Regardless, here’s hoping it’ll rock!

  8. There’s certainly a lot of wonderful eye candy in “Avatar”, but Cameron could learn a thing or two (or twenty) from Jeff about storytelling and dialog. His pacing is clunky and uneven, the plot lacks any mystery at all, the dialog is cringe worthy in parts…but it still manages to be an entertaining ride. A “Bone” move with Avatar funding, technology and marketing….now THAT would be a potent mix!

  9. Hate to sound like Alan Moore here, but I don’t think BONE should be a movie. Hollywood needs to think of its own ideas for once!

  11. I wonder why Americans follow that tired plot so often, of how repentant they are over the whole ‘Red Indian’ slaughter! I really would have liked to have seen a better plot in the film. Also maybe it’s just because it’s Christmas (and I expect miracles) but what a shame such a ‘green’ message on film does not make the audience decide to take home their popcorn boxes and coke cups after the performance.
BONE film? I love the book but will of course watch such a thing!

  12. Just to point out, and I’m sure a lot of people know by now, that Avatar “dragon” is no dragon at all.
It’s sort of a tiger-like creature, called Thanator.

Nevertheless, it was an amazing ride!

Oh dear. Happy Feet was rubbish. Bone is pure Win. How can these two be married?

  15. My name is Wil,
    I am 9 years old.
I would like a Bone video game or a Bone movie please. It would be nice to be able to see Bone without having to flip pages like in a movie or show. Do think this will happen?
    Thank you Jeff,
    Wil
