Man, the cover for 6 just might be my fav cover. And as for what's inside... while expanding some of the history stuff from previous issues, the present day storyline just flies by! It felt short because of the pacing at this particular juncture (and the wait for this issue to come out), but I know it will fit in smoothly with the overall narrative in retrospect. I have mixed feelings about the historical stuff. I loved the opening to issue 4, though later in that issue there was that one page near the end that felt overly expository to me. The start to this issue did a good job of balancing backstory with scientific background, but it felt heavy on the exposition again, especially since it was the longest sequence of this type so far, there were more of these background sequences interpersed throughout the issue, and the issue is now in the new, shorter format, which, ratio-wise, meant less other stuff. So that's just my personal taste at this point, because I'm excited about many other things in the story that I wanted / can't wait to see more of! The parts of the story I've enjoyed most so far have been the women in RASL's life, the University Museum Maze of Life stuff, the creepy little girl, anytime RASL is in the desert and the Robert/Miles/Maya Compound stuff. I actually haven't been too interested in Sal yet, but if we get more of his backstory and more of his motivation and his connection to the Compound, I know that aspect of the story will become more interesting for me as well. Although I have my own guesses (and I'm sure many others do as well) as to what's going on there! So maybe you don't want to tip your hand any further in that area at this time. There's so many cool threads and details going on, I really have had to re-read the story before each new issue. Needless to say, I can't wait for 7! Looking forward to the issues being on a more regular schedule this year - and very much looking forward to the second trade!

Oh boy, it's been a long time coming and I really can't wait to read RASL NUMBER 6! I might just have to start at the beginning again. With any luck, I'm going to pick up my copy from my local comic shop tomorrow!
