The cover for RASL #8 revealed
As mentioned in the letters page of RASL #7, I have to draw the covers many months in advance in order to appear in the Diamond Preview catalog. Most of the time, I know what to put on the cover, since the plots are pretty much sketched out. But when it came time for the cover of #8, I wasn’t quite sure how far into the story I’d be; so I put out a generic cover of Rasl exchanging punches with Sal as a place holder.
Now the real cover image is ready, and it features the spooky little girl who turns up around Rasl without warning (the pencils are below).
The little girl has generated a lot of mail from readers and in RASL #8 she begins to take on a larger role in Rob’s life

Hi Jeff,
I’m 13 years old, and I love Bone, do you think I’m old enough to read RASL? The drawings look so cool

Oh boy! This is so exciting! Her appearing on the last pages of #7 had me anxious for her plot thread to start being more revealed
By the way, every cover is my new favourite cover
I loved the cover for 7, it had this brightness to it that I don’t think that any of the previous covers had. I was sure 6 was going to be the best cover ever, but then you took a different feel to 7, and now a different feel yet again for 8! I love how they’re all the same style, but you’re keeping them fresh and each one has a different feel to it. So what happens to the placeholder cover for 8?

Spooky ghost girl!!! Great cover!
Jeff- I’m loving RASL. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this series after reading Bone. Expectations are such a silly thing to put on creators, but after issue #4 I felt this series really start to fly and with it went those expectations! It isn’t that RASL is better than Bone, but just so solidly different in every conceivable way. I’d never know the two were from the same creator and yet their caliber of storytelling are equally on par!
Kudos, sir! I’m loving this series and will keep buying the monthlies as long as you print them!
Bianca– I’d say if you watch, understand and actually ENJOY the television series “Lost” then you will find RASL very entertaining. It’s a more “adult” mind-bender and compeletely different from the cartoony, adventurous feeling of Bone. Maybe wait a few years?
