Shazam! Captain Marvel turned 70 in 2010!
Captain Marvel, also known by his enemies as the Big Red Cheese, first appeared in Whiz Comics #2 in 1940. Just in time, Newsarama contributor Zack Smith has completed a multi-part feature article to celebrate the character’s 70th birthday.
He interviewed me and a bunch of other folks who have worked on Captain Marvel over the years. I read the articles and they are full of interesting insights and tid-bits. It’s running over the next few weeks over at Newsarama.

It’s unfortunate that the folks who currently own Captain Marvel and family let that anniversary slip by without any fanfare whatsoever.
