Time flies…
I’ve been sorting through some photos to include in our 20th Anniversary BONE project, The Full Color BONE One Volume Edition, and I came across these two fun shots. The top one was taken in Chicago at the ComiCon in 1994. Frank Miller, Don Simpson, Colleen Doran, Larry Marder, and me (the one with the mullet!).
This one was taken just a few months ago in Columbus, Ohio during The 2010 Festival of Cartoon Art. Front row, Francoise Mouly, Art Spiegelman, and Matt Groening. Back row, me and restraurant owner Kevin Bertschi at Alana’s Food & Wine.
By the way, if you’re in Columbus, Alana’s was named Best Restaurant of 2010 by Columbus Underground!

Oooh, photos for the Extras section of the Color One Volume – awesome!

These are great! I’d love to see more. Guess we’ll have to by the book, huh?

Oh, man! So many awesome cartoonists in one place! That’s the most amazing photo ever! If I was asthmatic I would be reaching for my inhaler right now.

Hey Jeff! Thanks for the CU plug.
Alana’s is a Columbus institution! I hope Kevin was wearing his Lisa Simpson pin on his lapel for Matt.

Thank you for sharing these photos. I can’t wait to purchase the Color Bone One Volume. (my fingers are still crossed for a limited edition)

Walker, thank you for making our town a little hipper! I think Kevin had on his Mr. Burns pin, but I can’t remember for sure. We had a great time, and Alana made a delicious salmon mousse in the shape of Blinky the fish. Both Matt and Art said they would be back to visit Colo.
ComicDiva, there will be a special collector’s limited edition – - and it’s a good one. More details coming soon.

Dear Mr. Smith:
We would love to get you to come out to our libraries for a visit with your fans this summer. We have a lot of them and they are the rabid sort.
I am trying to get a list of authors together for visits to ten or more branches of our library system during our summer reading program (June & July). The Atlanta-Fulton County Library System is in and around Atlanta, Georgia and composed of 34 branches. We have a Godddard grant to pay for performers but I am trying to determine how much 10-12 presentations would be during a set period of time. Also, how much travel and hotel would cost. Even though we do have some funding, I am trying to stretch the budget while getting great children’s authors. And you sir, are definitely one of their favorites.
This is just an exploratory email. However, I am serious in my pursuits so please contact me at your earliest convenience. And it would be absolutely two scoops of awesome if I could get you to come down to Atlanta to meet our kids.
Sincerely,
Shannon Duffy
