i just read the ending of rasl in the fourth collected volume. it was really a nice work, and it got me really interested in the work of tesla, such an amazing charachter. But i just want to let you know that maybe missed something because i didn’t understand who the small child girl is?

Story on a whole was very fantastic. I felt that the ending would have benefited from an epilogue, but beyond that it was tight and very very well composed. It ended on a good note and I absolutely adored Sal throughout the series.

This is a must-buy for me once compiled into a single edition.

F***! I didn’t know the series was going to end this quick! RASL is one of my favorite comic series ever, definitely my favorite one that was currently in production. Oh well, I’m looking forward to reading the final issue. Thanks for the great comics.

I loved RASL. I think I liked RASL more than Bone. The ending was satisfying, which I’m really happy about. So many series end without a good resolution. I can’t wait for the next Jeff Smith outing, what will it be? RASL II?

Excellent ending to an amazing series. When I met you at a book signing in Toronto a few years back, Jeff….you were kind of surprised that I had been reading RASL since I had only been 14 at the time. I’m proud to say that I’ve been following the series since its initial release, and have been anticipating each issue until the end. Thanks for the amazing series Jeff and Cartoon Books! Best wishes!

P.S. A RASL film directed by David Fincher would be amazing. Although, any film version of RASL would never be able to top the comic!

Christopher: Yes, you have it right; “Tell the truth but leave out the…” is an almost verbatim recreation of Sam Spade’s instructions to to his secretary Effie. There were a couple of Maltese Falcon riffs in RASL, starting with the fact that Rasl, like Sam, was sleeping with his partner’s wife. Sam Spade’s partner was named Miles! And issue #15, when it is reprinted in the new trade collection will be given the title: Taking the Fall, another ref to the noir film.

This was a really extraordinary book that quickly became one of my favorites of the lst few years. Surprising this didn’t get more coverage in the press. It was a highly praised book in all of the shops I visited.
