San Diego Comic Con 2012

Hi everybody! Comic Con is upon us again! As we get ready, I wanted to share a few “new” items that we’ll be bringing to the show! As you already know, the final graphic novel (with a special cover) of the RASL series will be debuting at Comic-Con, and here are a few other goodies to whet your appetite! Below is the cover art for the third Quest book that will be out next year, and will be displayed as a backdrop in our booth.

If you attended any of the shows on the 20th Anniversary tour last year, you saw our 10 foot tall cutout of the Bone cousins reaching for some delicious pie. A signed, Limited Edition 13×19 full color print will be available.

The t-shirt offering this year is none other than our lovable rat creatures! Adult shirts will be in brown and the kids sizes will be in purple.

And last but certainly not least, we’ll have the highly anticipated BONE Full Color One Volume Slipcase Edition signed by Jeff Smith! Get yours while supplies last!

Hope to see you there!

Really coulda used Tesla to help finish the END of RASL…

Hi everybody. Tom here. I know, I know, it’s been awhile…

This past month we’ve all been busy with the final chapter of RASL. Jeff finished 5 pages (after staying up all night) last Friday morning, June 29th. I took Jeff and Vijaya to the airport for their much deserved vacation to Italy, and returned to the office to finish my part on the books. That afternoon, a major thunderstorm with 80mph winds, took out power lines that affected over 200,000 homes, us included. After setting up a Cartoon Books satellite office at a friends house, Kathleen and I were able to layout and proof the comic and Trade book 4, and get to the printers by late Sunday night.

Power was finally restored to the Cartoon Books office this afternoon, and now it’s time to get ready for San Diego Comic Con next week.

Above is the cover art for the Limited Edition (only 200 printed) signed and numbered RASL Book 4, that will be available at Comic Con. I will have some set aside to sell on the boneville store site after the show.

Jeff will not be attending Comic Con this year, but we will have some pre-signed books and prints for purchase. Look on the bright side…No waiting in long lines.

I’ll blog more about San Diego on Thursday!

HAPPY 4th of JULY, everybody!!!

~Tom

Better Late than NEVER…part 1

Jeff is working hard on the next issue of RASL. So, I figured I would pass along some fun videos and pictures from the first half of the conventions we’ve been attending.

Here is an interview Jeff did with the Stumptown Trader Review in San Diego.

And here is their Comic Con 2011 Highlight Reel. Jeff  makes a cameo about the 1:55 mark.

Publishers Weekly had some fun pics and information on the kid’s books at the show. You can read that by clicking here!

Baltimore Comic Con was fun as Jeff, Steve and I continued the party with Robyn and Terry Moore. This photo courtesy of the Baltimore Comic Con Facebook page!

Fan Expo Canada was the highlight of the BONE tour for me thus far. The screen capture below is from the video of where I was “punked” by a girl from MTV Live, who was cutting in line to get an autograph. After she told me, and I saw the camera, this moment will go down as the most embarrassing of my life, so far! You can see the whole video here!

We will have more pics and stories soon, and Jeff should be back to blogging next week!

Next up on the 20th Anniversary BONE Tour…New York Comic Con! Hope to see you there!
