April 9-15 is National Library Week! Sponsored by the
American Library Association (ALA), we celebrate the contributions of our
nation’s libraries and librarians to promote literacy and education. Have you
visited your library lately?
RIP Carolyn Kelly, daughter of the great Walt Kelly, author of Pogo (Jeff’s biggest inspiration next to Carl Barks). Jeff had the great honor to meet both Selby (Walt’s wife) and Carolyn in 1997 when he was invited to Waycross, GA to accept his spot on the Cartoonist Walk of Fame. Here’s a photo of Carolyn, Jeff and Selby at the celebration, and another photo of Jeff and Vijaya accepting their prize.
