BONE: CODA in Stores
Today!
Columbus, Ohio – July
27, 2016
The wait is over! For
the first time in 12 years, Cartoon Books has released a new BONE story by
creator Jeff Smith. This unique tale picks up right where the original saga
left off and appears in a new BONE volume called BONE: CODA.
“We’re celebrating 25
years since the first black & white issue of the BONE comic book was
released to comic book shops,” said Smith, “It’s my way of saying thank you to
the readers who have supported BONE over the years, as well as an excuse to
spend some more time with the Bone boys!”
The new story is 36-pages
long in black & white, and is accompanied by an essay from Smith to the
readers, comic shops, and the comics community covering the ups and downs of
two and half decades in the comics biz called COMIC LIFE, A Movable Pizza Party.
Also included as a bonus is librarian & comics historian Stephen Weiner’s A BONE Companion. A BONE Companion is an
independently published look at the art & world of BONE, and is presented
here fully illustrated for the first time. Both sections are rich with comics
and photos.
The first black &
white issue of the self-published comic book BONE appeared on comic shop
shelves in July 1991, 25 years ago.
BONE: CODA, 132 page trade paperback published by
Cartoon Books is available in comic book shops, bookstores and online.
