For those of you unable to join us for CXC, here are a few highlights from this years show!

Repost from Jared Gardner:

One last #cxc2019
panel to share: My final panel of the festival was hosting two of my
heroes: Jeff Smith and Terry Moore. They talked about self-publishing
and their careers while inviting the audience up to watch them at work.
And at a question about the technicalities of self-publishing, Terry
jumped up and walked through the whole scheduling process at a
whiteboard

Tesla Tuesday: OCD

People
suspect that Tesla suffered from Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), which was
not a classified illness in his time but considered a symptom of insanity. He
would always sit at the same table at his hotel restaurants, have 18 napkins
brought over so he can clean his silverware, plates, and glasses due to his
great fear of germs. He never shook hands with people; also before entering a
building he would circle the block 3 times. He was disgusted by anyone else’s
hair; he hated jewelry especially pearl necklaces, and loathed perfume. He had
so many phobias he couldn’t engage into relationships with women and he
remained celibate all his life.

It’s Monday. We’re itchin’ to get the week started!

Page 1 of ‘The Gem’, the first BONE comic, by Jeff Smith age 10.

In Jeff’s studio. What looks good?

September 11, 2001, Jeff and Vijaya had just arrived in
Norway for a comics festival in Bergen. Illustrating the experience of what it
was like to be far from home that day, these original art pieces were donated
to the “9-11: Emergency Relief” graphic novel which was a fundraiser
for the American Red Cross.

Our pal and superstar artist @fabiomoon drew this sweet
sketch to commemorate the milestone of BONE finally getting published in its
entirety in Brazil! Big thank you to publishers Todavia Livros for taking such
good care of our books and for bringing the complete story to our fans. Cheers!
